Large square bowl with brown and orange nuances, “Siena” no. 962/3775, decor by Ellen Malmer (b. 1942) for Royal Copenhagen around mid-70s.

The name of the series “Siena” originates from the color Siena which was named from the warm and golden color of the earth around Siena in Italy

Ellen Malmer was just 23 years old, when in 1965 she and other artist were handpicked by the director of the Design Department of Royal Copenhagen, Nils Thorsson, to create the famous and popular Baca series. She worked at RC until 1988.

Johanne Gerber was another one of the artist chosen by Nils Thorsson. The smaller blue bowl (11x11cm) in the “Baca” series no. 780/2882 was designed by Johanne Gerber in the 1960s and has a beautiful and abstract flower motive in blue and white with brown branches across the design. The different colours are layered across one another to give an illusion of depth.

The bowls are in prime condition.

Should you buy multiple lots from seller, they will be shipped in one package whenever possible.

Goed en netjes verpakt. zending is lang onderweg geweest, maar dat kan ook wel aan het postbedrijf liggen. In het algemeen helemaal tevreden. Bedankt voor de goede zorgen.
