Maske - Ngil - Reißzahn - Gabun (Ohne Mindestpreis)

The Fang are a Bantu people living in Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Cameroon, numbering about one million. The Ngil masks were used in initiation rites among the Fang people and played a significant role in maintaining social order. To solve crimes such as murders, men would roam the village at night wearing the ngil mask, searching for the culprit by torchlight.

The mask is coated with white kaolin paint typical of the Ngil masks. It features a wide forehead and concave, heart-shaped face bordered by eyebrow arches. The eyes are narrow slits, and the long nose ridge starts from the junction of the eyebrow arches. The protruding pointed mouth is positioned at the very bottom of the face. The head features a hair arrangement of three ridges painted brown.
