+++ You will be able to taste this famous Italian wine with a VERTICAL OF 5 VINTAGES (1982, 1983, 1985, 1986 and 1987). This type of tasting highlights the influence that the trend of the vintage has on the finished product and the way in which the wine evolves over time. +++

It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first modern red wine blended with non-traditional varieties and among the first red wines in Chianti Classico not to use white grapes. Tignanello is a milestone. It is produced with a selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
After the first experiment in 1975 the white grapes were completely removed, now the composition is 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc and the alcohol content is 13.50%. In practice it was, together with Sassicaia, the precursor of Super Tuscan wines which managed to obtain numerous awards all over the world.
Tignanello wine is one of the most appreciated Italian wines in the world, it presents itself in the glass of an intense ruby red, almost regal, on the nose it is complex with notes ranging from red fruits to tobacco, from leather to vanilla, with a light hint of chocolate with red rose petals.

REFINEMENT
During the fermentation process in truncated cone tanks, the musts were macerated with extreme attention to the freshness of the aromas, the extraction of color and the management of tannins aimed at sweetness and elegance. The racking took place only after careful and daily tastings. Once the skins were separated from the wine, the malolactic fermentation in barrique began, enhancing the finesse and complexity of the aromas. Thus began the refinement process lasting approximately 14-16 months, in French and Hungarian oak barrels, partly new and partly second passage. The different lots, vinified separately based on the variety, were elevated in wood and then assembled a few months before bottling. The wine is aged for a further 12 months in the bottle before being presented on the market.
