He was the main artist on Hawkman for a decade. His first published work was in Action Comics #1.

- Gil Kane (1926-2000)

Gil Kane was a comic book artist who worked mainly for Marvel and DC.
He is the co-creator of the modern version of Green Lantern and Atom for DC and the co-creator of Iron Fist with Roy Thomas for Marvel. He succeeded John Romita in drawing Spiderman in the early 1970s.
He enters the Will Eisner Hall of Fame in 1997
