A rare vintage 1981 17 year old Caol Ila Islay single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1981 and bottled after 17 years maturation in oak cask in the Spirit of Scotland selection by Gordon and MacPhail in the year 1998 at 40.0% vol. in a limited edition.
From the early 1990s to 2014, Gordon and MacPhail have produced special single malts from selected distilleries in the Spirit of Scotland Edition, such as Ardbeg, Balmenach, Banff, Benriach, Bladnach, Brora, Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila, Caperdonich, Clynelish, Convalmore, Dalmore, Lochside, Longmorn, Macduff, Port Ellen, Rosebank, St. Magdalene, Tomatin and many other well-known distilleries in limited editions.
This old bottling of the 17 years Caol Ila Islay single malt scotch whisky from the early 1980s is rarely found today.
