DESCRIPTION
It was the combination of love for the land with the fruit of hard work that, in 1926, with D. Lúcia Borges Vinagre having inherited from her father, António Borges, Quinta de Santa Maria, in S. Miguel da Carreira, in Barcelos, came to be. beginning of strong wine development. After an innovative land consolidation process that continues to this day, the property's Vinho Verde began to be bottled, a pioneering activity in the Region.
In 1939, Quinta do Tamariz was acquired, equipped with a manor house, which became D. Lúcia's residence. In 1965, the Sociedade Agrícola da Quinta de Santa Maria S.A. was created, which operates the two farms. Founded by D. Lúcia's son, the architect António Vinagre, the Society is today managed by his grandson, Dr. António Borges Vinagre. From 1981 onwards, a vast program of restructuring the vineyards began, giving priority to the noble white grape variety Loureiro, recommended for the Atlantic strip of the Vinhos Verdes Region. Later, the white varieties Arinto and Alvarinho and the red varieties Vinhão, Borraçal and Touriga Nacional were added.
Our history, itself made up of stories, is the guarantor of our heritage. Along with the challenges of modernity, tradition lives with us and ensures the quality of our heritage.

WINE VARIETIES: Alvarinho (100%).

VINIFICATION
A modern blend, in which the freshness and fruity aromas, typical of the grape varieties that give rise to it, harmonize with an excellent body and concentration, due to the maturation of the grapes at the time of harvest and the process of battonage and aging on fine lees. Using only their own grapes, which they select manually in the vineyard, Quinta do Tamariz wines retain the essence of the region's terroir, which is characterized by the pleasant freshness and complexity of the aromas. Vinification and bottling are done meticulously not only to preserve the original flavors, but also to enhance its aging capacity. Each bottle is then assigned an identification number, which allows the consumer to access any information about that harvest in an honest and transparent way.

TASTING NOTES
Wine with a light, limpid and lively citrine color, it is a wine with a fresh and floral nose at the beginning, notes of subtropical fruit, an intense wine with a long and expressive finish.

SERVING
Ideal to accompany white meat, fish and seafood dishes. Great as an aperitif. Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and temperature fluctuations. Serve at a temperature between 8ºC and 10ºC. Consume in moderation.

We currently have 6 references of the Carlos Conde brand: Grande Reserva, Reserva Especial, Reserva, Velho, Escolha Alvarinho, Escolha Loureiro.
All of our references have great aging capacity in the bottle, to bring you Vinhos Verdes of great quality that will remain in your memory.
Our wines are exclusively sold to the end consumer and to specialized stores.

VINIFICATION
During Harvest, only the best grapes were selected to this lot. This is a small production, only 7111 numbered bottles.

TASTING NOTES
Wine with a clear appearance and a citrus color, with a fruity aroma dominated by tropical fruits. In the mouth it is fresh and fruity, vibrant and precise with a unique balance due to the aromatic profile, freshness and moderately low alcohol content.

SERVING
Ideal as an aperitif and to accompany fish, seafood, poultry and soft cheese dishes. Store upright, in a cool, dry place, protected from light and temperature fluctuations. Serve at a temperature between 10ºC and 12ºC. Consume in moderation.
