Vol. VI: 331 pp., 7 sets of engraved plates in double-suite: left uncoloured, right nicely hand-coloured.
Vol. VII: 320 pp., 11 sets of engraved plates in double-suite: left uncoloured, right nicely hand-coloured.

Contemporary uniform quarter calf over marbled boards; spine with two black leather labels with gilt title, gilt lines and blind stamped ornaments; marbled endpapers and marbled edges. Top of some spines bit damaged.
A very good and clean set of a rare 'de luxe' edition with double-suite plates.

* F. Martin Grostête de Tigny (1736-1799) was a French naturalist.
Most plates are drawings of De Sève and Barraband, some of the very best illustrators of the early 19th century. This 1813-edition is much rarer than the 1828 Roret-edition.
