Complete work, with upwards of 500 engravings, and coloured illustrations by Tuffen West. The first part of the book covers the invention and improvements of the microscope and the second part covers different things across the vegetable and animal kingdoms that can be examined under the microscope. There is an Appendix at the end of the book which covers Microscopical Examination of Drinking Water.
Published by George Routledge and Sons, London, 1883. Publishers’ original Maroon boards, with black decoration and gilt design of The Microscope to the front cover. Gilt lettering, and vignette of a Microscope on spine.
Book Dimensions: 20 x 14 x 5 cm & Number of Pages: 764 pages including index
Condition
Light wear to boards’ corners, and edges, with minor rubbing to head and tail of spine. Internally; the book is in good condition. No names or inscriptions. Pages are clean, with occasional light foxing on the margin of few pages. All plates are present and still pretty bright (Please see pictures).
