Hardback in publisher's red percaline with raised bands and gilt titles to spine. All edges gilt, nice and bright. Boards on both a little rubbed at edges, but very clean. Endpapers a little darkened. Some light foxing but overall, both very good.
With numerous lovely b/w woodcut illustrations in the text and some full-page - and title vignettes; after drawings by Rodolphe Töpffer, and MM. Calame, Girardet, D'Aubigny, De Bar, Forest, Gagnet, etc.
