Römisches Reich Bronzering mit Menora - Jüdischer Leuchter (Ohne Mindestpreis)

Ancient Roman Bronze Ring with Menorah - Jewish Candelabrum Circa 1st century BC - 1st century AD This nice bronze ring has a round hoop with a slightly rounded exterior and a large, flat bezel. The bezel is intricately engraved with a seven-branch menorah on a tripod stand. The menorah is a seven-branched candelabrum that is one of the oldest symbols of Judaism. It is traditionally made of gold and features a central stem with six branches, three on each side, all aligned symmetrically. Each branch holds a lamp. The menorah's design is believed to be inspired by the burning bush encountered by Moses on Mount Sinai and symbolizes the eternal light and divine presence. The origins of the menorah trace back to the instructions given by God to Moses in the Hebrew Bible, specifically in the Book of Exodus (Exodus 25:31-40), where detailed specifications for its construction are provided. The menorah was initially placed in the Tabernacle and later in the Temple in Jerusalem, serving as a source of light and a symbol of enlightenment. Size: D: 17.35mm / US: 7 / UK: O; 5.3g Provenance: From the private collection of a South London collector; previously in a collection formed on the UK/European art market in the 1990s.
