The Doors The Doors were an influential American rock band that formed in Los Angeles in 1965. The band consisted of Jim Morrison (vocals), Ray Manzarek (keyboard), Robby Krieger (guitar) and John Densmore (drums). The Doors became known for their unique combination of rock, blues, psychedelic and the lyrical poetry of Jim Morrison. The self-titled debut album "The Doors" was released in 1967 and included hits such as "Light My Fire" and "Break On Through (To the Other Side)". It was a huge success and established the band as one of the leading groups in the emerging rock scene. The Doors were characterized by their experimental and eclectic musical style. Ray Manzarek's organ playing and Jim Morrison's charismatic vocals contributed to the band's unique soundscape.
