Rare copy of The Utamaro's Chronology , a bible for all the collectors and fans of Shunga. This limited edition of 800 copies ( this one is N° 790) took more than 10 years to the author Lin Meiyi to be edited. It's a complete listing of all Utamaro's works , very scarce to see, never reprinted. 4 books ( 21 x 15 cm ) with a softcover, bistre embossed thick paper , with the number 790 stamped on each and also on the slipcase ( thin card) The first is a complete chronology in the time of his works, his different editions and his history. The 3 books after are with the same title : Utamaro's works collection ( with the number 1 , 2 & 3 serie ) You have for each book, the cover photo, the content & commentaries, after a photo of the different works in each book. The 3 books are on the same process. 2 loose sheets are with , one of the editor to explain the rarity of the work and another one of the author to be sorry for some mistakes he did ( the pages or the plates with mistakes are written ) 332 pages in total , a reference in the Shunga world. We haven't the precise date of edition , sure 70-80's, The author explained that he took a lot of things in several books edited in 1960 and another one in 1965.
