Around the 4th year of Bunka (1807), Eizan’s Uchiwa-e was released from the Uchiwa-e wholesaler in Horie-cho, and Eizan became popular, selling it as a beautiful woman painting like Utamaro. Eizan’s early style resembled that of Eizan’s later years, but around 7-8 years of culture, he was soft and established his own style of painting. From the 7th year of Bunka to the 9th year of Bunka, he drew several kinds of illustrations. Also, from the middle of culture to the middle of Bunsei, he produced a large collection of beautiful women’s paintings, and spread the style of drawing full-body beautiful women on two-piece kakemono paintings. The cultural period was the most popular period for Eizan, but in the Bunsei period, people’s tastes became popular with the beauty paintings drawn by Kunisada Utagawa and Eizan Keisai, a disciple of Eizan. Eizan’s work, which cannot keep up with the times, will disappear at the end of the Bunsei period. Since then, the number of Eizan Nishiki-e has decreased. Goods are folded and shipped.
