Erstaunliche 63 cm - Sehr großer Campanile - Versteinerte Muschel - Campanile lachesis - 63 cm - 20 cm

. Campanile lachesis . Currently, this beautiful fossil constitutes the largest known Campanile specimen in the world, surpassing even known museum exhibits by sheer size and excellent quality. It possesses a great length of 63 cm along its central axis, and weighs approx. 11,6 kg. The genus Campanile lachesis is considerably rarer compared to its famous cousin Campanile giganteum from France. This fossil belongs to the Eocene – ca. 40-45 million years ago – from the rich geological formation of Kraymorie, Bulgaria. For the past years of digging, this object has marked a priceless discovery from the fossil deposit at Kraymorie. It is highly unlikely to ever find another specimen of this caliber because the current deposit may likely become exhausted in the near future. The outer structure of the shell is in almost perfect condition, as well as the aperture of this seashell being 90% complete. Dimensions: 63 cm – length (axial), 20 cm – width (at its widest), 70 cm – semi-circumference (as measured from apex to aperture) Overall, the specimen listed here is a phenomenal discovery and deserves a spot amongst the world’s best fossil collections.
