Superb Lower Paleolithic Acheulean Cordiform Handaxe from Africa. This handaxe dates to circa 600,000 - 150,000 years ago and was made by Homo Erectus. 17.5 x 11.9 x 3.4 cm. 649 Grammes.

This piece is part of a large collection of stone-age objects, including many of North African origin, inherited by myself from a close relative, an avid antiquities enthusiast, who passed away in the late 1990's.
The collection was formed primarily in the 70's and 80's from many sources on the European art market. It has formed a part of my personal collection since 1998.
