Altägyptisch Bronze Bronze von Ra-horakhty - 9 cm

Superb and very rare Egyptian bronze of Ra-Horakhty. From the Late Period (664-332 B.C).
A synthesis of Ra, the sun god and king of all deities, and Horakhty, the dawn aspect of Horus. It is known as the journey of the sun as Ra from one horizon to another and was a means of presenting Ra as a symbol of hope, rebirth and realised aspirations. This piece illustrates Ra Horakhty in a seated pose, facing to the left, with his knees drawn tightly to his chest while holding a feather of truth at the top. His bird-like face has an aquiline raptor beak and a single ovoid eye beneath a solar disc.
