Hamonious and fine statue of Buddha, Siddharta Gautama. Hand carved in a single piece of tropical Suar wood. His refined and relaxed facial expression conveys serenity and peacefull. The expression recalls the inner harmony. Vitarka mudra is a symbolic, ritualistic hand gesture used in yoga, Buddhism and Hinduism. The term comes from the Sanskrit, vitarka, meaning “reasoning,” “consideration” or “deliberation”; and mudra, meaning “closure,” “mark” or “seal.” Vitarka mudra is also known as the “gesture of debate” or the “discussion mudra.”This Mudra also represents the transmission of the teachings by the Buddha.
