Sogrape combines its in-house production with the purchasing of grapes from thousands of growers in a collective effort which nurtures – and brings to the world – the very best in Portuguese wines. Knowledge and excellence are just some of the things that make Casa Ferreirinha a benchmark in the world of wines. Quinta da Leda is a superior quality wine that embodies the exclusive richness and contemporaneity of great Douro wines. Quinta da Leda is defined by its complexity and elegance: distinctive elements celebrated in the wines of Casa Ferreirinha, the brand with the biggest tradition of quality in the Douro and a reference of global renown. WINEMAKER: Luís Sottomayor. 2019 Casa Ferreirinha, Quinta da Lêda Red 1 x 0.75L AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS 96 Points, James Suckling 95 Points, Wine Enthusiast 94+ Points, Robert Parker 94 Points, Wine Spectator 93 Points, Falstaff 93 Points, Revista de Vinhos 92 Points, VertdeVin 18 Points, Vinum Magazine 18 Points, Vinho Grandes Escolhas 93 Points, International Wine & Spirit Competition (2018 Vintage) 93 Points, Decanter World Wine Awards (2017 Vintage) 91 Points, International Wine Challenge (2016 Vintage) 17 Points, Jancis Robinson (2016 Vintage) 94 Points, Tom Cannavan (2015 Vintage) Gold Medal, Mundus Vini (2015 Vintage) WINE VARIETIES: Touriga Franca (41%), Touriga Nacional (34%), Tinto Cão (13%) & Tinta Roriz (12%). VINIFICATION Grapes were selected and harvested manually in the best plots of Quinta da Leda. A new selection took place on the sorting mat at the winery to ensure maximum quality. After gentle crushing and de-stemming, the grapes were conveyed to stainless steel vats, where alcoholic fermentation took place. Maceration was long and smooth, extracting the compounds that give colour, aroma and flavour to the wine. It aged for around 18 months in French oak barrels, both new (50%) and used (50%). The final blend was prepared on the basis of countless tastings and analyses carried out during this period. In order to preserve the highest quality of this wine, Quinta da Leda was only subjected to filtration before bottling. As it was not cold stabilised, the formation of a deposit during bottle ageing is natural. TASTING NOTES From one of the top vineyards in the Douro Superior region, the wine is impressive. Its balance and richness are matched by the wine's concentration. Powerful black fruits and a dense texture promise further aging. SERVING Ideal to accompany meat dishes, game and cheeses. The formation of a deposit in the bottle is natural. From the 2nd year after bottling, it is recommended that the wine be decanted before drinking. Serve at 16-18º C. 2019 Casa Ferreirinha, Callabriga Red 1 x 0.75L AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS 93 Points, International Wine & Spirit Competition 91 Points, James Suckling 91 Points, Wine Enthusiast 90 Points, International Wine & Spirit Competition 89 Points, Decanter World Wine Awards 17 Points, Vinho Grandes Escolhas 95 Points, Gold Medal, International Wine Challenge (2020 Vintage) 90 Points, Falstaff (2020 Vintage) 17.5 Points, Vinum Magazine (2020 Vintage) 88-89 Points, VertdeVin (2020 Vintage) 93 Points, Wine Spectator (2018 Vintage) Gold Medal, Challenge International Du Vin (2017 Vintage) 90 Points, Tom Cannavan (2015 Vintage) 92 Points, Revista Adega (2014 Vintage) Grand Gold Medal, Mundus Vini (2014 Vintage) WINE VARIETIES: Touriga Franca (43%), Touriga Nacional (32%) & Tinta Roriz (25%).
