Karuizawa Distillery was established in 1955 in the foothills of Mount Asama, an active volcano north-west of Tokyo, to make single malt whisky in as traditional a manner as possible.
At 850 metres above sea level, the distillery is the highest in Japan; low temperatures and high humidity provide an ideal micro-climate for whisky production.

Bottled in 2012, this single malt has been crafted from hand-selected European oak Sherry casks of whisky distilled in 1999 and 2000, the final vintages of Karuizawa."

For the discerning whisky enthusiast, the Karuizawa Asama is a rare and exceptional gem that embodies the essence of Japanese whisky craftsmanship. Named after the famed Asama volcano near the Karuizawa distillery, this single malt whisky is a tribute to the meticulous artistry and dedication of one of Japan's most iconic distilleries.
