1995 Poggio all'Oro Riserva, Castello Banfi & 2001 Rosso di Montalcino Villa Poggio Salvi - Toskana - 2 Flaschen (0,75 l)

1995 Riserva: The history of what can rightly be considered one of the most famous Italian wineries began at the end of the 1970s, in 1978 to be precise, when the Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani gave life to a large-scale project in Montalcino , integrating quality wine production with a modern, innovative and cutting-edge cellar, refreshing the centuries-old history of Brunello di Montalcino. A completely new approach, unprecedented and subsequently imitated by many, which however had as its indisputable cornerstone that of always maintaining the quality level of the white and red wines produced. Ezio Rivella, one of the greatest Italian oenologists ever, worked alongside the Mariani family and immediately believed that due to the richness of the nature of the soil and also thanks to the privileged microclimatic position, the production could excel in the Tuscan panorama of the era. He wasn't wrong at all, and for years Banfi's model was in fact a unique model, capable of conveying not only in the United States, but in general to the whole world, all the best characteristics of Montalcino wines in their most modern meaning. 2001 Rosso di Montalcino: Exemplary in its varietal traits, the Rosso di Montalcino by Villa Poggio Salvi is a wine that is immediately appreciated for its fruity nose and elegant sip, ideal for accompanying a rich land menu. Blueberries, plums and spicy puffs chase each other in the bouquet of this red throughout the meal, which can be appreciated in the mouth for its freshness and surprisingly balanced drinkability. To be enjoyed with a roast or rare fillet.
