First edition. Pablo Pedro de Astarloa (1752-1806) continued the work of Andrés de Poza. In these pages he refers to Basque as the language of Adam and Eve, the most excellent of all that exist.
Based on a methodology that attributes a grammatical meaning to each letter or sound, Astarloa develops his thesis. Even though this linguistic analysis is now outdated, Astarloa was one of the greatest experts on Basque at the time and is considered a precursor of Basque-Iberianism along with Erro and Moguel. In the subtitle, Astarloa refers to the article Navarra by Joaquín Traggia that was to appear in the Geographical-Historical Dictionary of Spain, of which only two volumes were published and which was replaced by Madoz's.
