Iron IAB-MG CAMPO DEL CIELO meteorite: 6.435 kg (!) UNIQUE OFFER !
With very nice regmaglypts. See pictures for reference.

The Campo del Cielo refers to a group of iron meteorites that are found
in an area of the same name about 1000 km northwest of Buenos Aires,
Argentina, between the provinces of Chaco and Santiago del Estero.
First discovered in 1576.

The field of impact craters covers an area of 3 km X 20 km and the site
contains at least 26 craters, the largest measuring 115 m x 91 m.
The craters' age is estimated as 4000 to 5000 years old and features
1,350 square kilometers of meteorite impacts.

A huge metallic fireball struck Earth at almost a right angle, as if trying to
make a gracefull landing, at a speed of 14,000 km per hour.

Classified as coarse octahedrite, the composition is about 94% iron and
6% nickel with a number of scarce minerals as well, including kamacite,
taenite, plessite, triolite, graphite and silicates.
Campo meteorites are well known for their silicate inclusions an are
estimated to date back 4.6 billion years.

The Argentine government has prohibited all export of these meteorites.
This is why it is a safe investment as well, for it will become more scarce
to find especially a very big one, like the one presented on this auction!

A unique 'pièce de résistance' to enrich your collection!
