A large Chinese famille verte 19th/20th century rouleau vase. The vase is finely enamelled with a continuous scene of silk and root dye production. The two poems describe the latter processes. The shoulder is decorated with four cartouches on the sloping shoulder containing books, an abacus, a qin and a bundle of brushes, while the neck is decorated with a continuous mountain scene. Overall very high quality. Condition: very good with minor wear to the enamels (UV check see photos).
