Antique Celt (local name 'kapak') of nephrite jade stone from the Yos Sudarso Bay (formerly known as Humboldt Bay), West Papua (formerly Irian Jaya). What makes this celt so beautiful and attractive is its dark green color and beautiful, light crystal patterns. On one flat side, the green-gray pattern is mixed in some places with a subtle pattern of ochre-brown/brown colors. The celt functioned as a means of payment, e.g. as bride price objects and for land transactions. This copy dates from the mid-19th century / the second half of the 19th century. Dimensions: length - 18 cm | width-6.5/3 cm | thickness 2.6 cm This stone is in perfect condition and is therefore a true collector's item.
