For a change a complete set of damask linen Napkins and this would imply that the set was most probably never used. The young wedded couple would often received lots of napkins as present and most disappeared in the wedding armoire and never to be seen again. Also for daily use and looking at the initials the couple would have used very simple napkins. The initials C.A. are in a pearl like square frame and sitting in a beautiful oval wreath of long leaves and flora. The borders are covered with compositions of flora and there appears to be not much left which has not been filled in with flowers and leaves. I detect quite a few anemone which were such popular flowers in both the 19th and 20th Century.
