The outer surface of the Bunko show a fine black-lacquered lid decorated with pretty maki-e patterns for beautiful arabesque. These patterns were created with great precision and detail, capturing the beauty of the flower and plants in every nuance. The gold lacquer was applied with great skill, creating an effect of depth and three-dimensionality to the floral motif.
The interior of the Bunko are coated with nashiji lacquer, a traditional Japanese finish that creates a thick gold dust effect over the entire surface. This finish offers a charming contrast to the glossy black exterior.
