Four antique pearlware blue & white transferware deep dinner plates or shallow bowls dating to the George III period. Decorated in a Chinese-inspired “Net” pattern and trimmed with fluted, indented edges.
Central circular medallion of a cross formed of a sunflower and insects on a net background (thus the pattern name) within a band frame of scrolls and flowers enclosed by four different Chinoiserie medallions of pagodas in a ground of leaves and flowers. Similar motifs decorate the rim.
Unmarked, but this pattern was popularised by Spode.

Very good antique condition. Crazing appropriate to age and use; three of the plates have superficial hairline cracks on bases; one dish has yellowing and a hairline crack on base and a crack that extends to both sides.
