The Siege of Batavia was a military campaign led by Sultan Agung of Mataram to capture the Dutch VOC (Dutch East Indies Company) port-settlement of Batavia in Java.
The first attempt was launched in 1628, and the second in 1629, both were unsuccessful. Jan Pieterszoon Coen, the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies managed to repel the sieges and beat off all of Sultan Agung's attacks.
Published in 1754 in The Hague in a (more rare) Dutch edition of ´Histoire generale des Voyages...´.

I am glad you are happy with the map. And also that it arrived safely. I must say I am a bit surprised by the comment about the time it took to send it. The shipping took 8 days, from Spain to the Netherlands. Perhaps you count from the moment you pay, but I can´t possibly ship in a weekend. You paid at the end of the morning on Friday when the mail here already had been collected. It now left on a Monday at the first possibility. And it took a week. That includes a weekend where also the Dutch Post doesn´t work. I think it will be difficult to get it to you faster, unless the costs are multiplied by three or four to contract express courier service......
