A charming late 18th to early 19th century oil on canvas landscape of a beagle dog watching a game bird. From a private UK collection we think the painting dates from circa 1800 and is a lovely composition.
Condition report: The original canvas has been laid onto a new canvas approximately 80 years ago . There is fine craquelure through the painting commensurate with its age. The paint surface is stable and even and the canvas is in good tension . The later ebonised frame is in good clean condition. Please refer to the notes below regarding frames.
