This bronze statue of Ichiyo Kannon was crafted by the renowned master sculptor Nagata/Osada Seizan (1920–2010) to commemorate the 750th memorial anniversary of Zen Master Dogen in 2002. The piece draws inspiration from the legend of Ichiyo Kannon and reflects the refined elegance of Kannon-ji Temple. Finished with hand-applied gold leaf, the statue exemplifies the height of contemporary Japanese bronze craftsmanship. Each work is signed, numbered, and limited to 950 pieces, making this a rare collector’s item.

Nagata Seizan was a prominent figure in modern Japanese sculpture, receiving the honorary title of Daibutsushi (Master Sculptor) in 1980 for his exceptional contributions to Buddhist art. This edition was released through the Imperial Art Gallery, with a strict one-per-customer policy to preserve its exclusivity.

Kannon Bodhisattva (Avalokitesvara) also known as Kwan Yin / Guanyin is a compassionate bodhisattva whose name means “one who hears the cries of the world and immediately comes to save, and one who freely sees through the truth to provide salvation.”

The statue comes in its original wooden box bearing Seizan’s signature, along with a certificate of authenticity.
