These crystal candlesticks were designed by glass artist Kjell Engman for Kosta Boda and are in the FANFARE series. The vintage candleholders have a clean and rounded design: mouth-blown, hand-cut, and polished at the the company’s factory in Kosta, Sweden. They are rare, elegant pieces and showcase Scandinavian/Nordic design at its very best.
DIMENSIONS: The larger one is 22 cm high, 11 cm wide, 11 cm deep; the smaller one is 18 cm high, 10.5 cm wide, and 10.5 cm deep.
CONDITION: Excellent condition. Virtually unused with very few signs of wear.
MARKINGS: One of the candlesticks has the Kosta Boda sticker.
SHIPPING: The candleholders will be carefully wrapped, boxed and shipped with a tracking/tracing number.
KJELL ENGMAN studied at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Stockholm) and at the Pilchuck Glass School (Seattle USA). He has been a prolific glass artist and designer at Kosta Boda since 1978. Engman was born into a family of musicians and has worked as a professional rock guitarist. His musical energy and joie de vivre inspire and radiate in his art glass objects and figures.
KOSTA BODA was founded as a glassworks manufacturer of utilitarian and art glass in 1742, and has expanded into a highly successful, global Swedish design brand. Its designers are renowned for their first-rate craftsmanship, ingenuity and artistic flair, which have made the company’s objects unique, inspiring and bold. Kosta Boda has a history of working with renowned artists and designers, such as Monica Backstrom, Anna Ehrner, Kjell Engman, Sven Erixson, Mona Morales-Schildt, Ulrica Hydman-Vallien, Bertil Vallien, and Ann Wolff — among others.

En cuanto a los derechos de propiedad intelectual, este jarrón fue concebido por un diseñador danés (Frank Kerdil) y en el estilo del artista holandés (Piet Mondrian). Se fabrica en China en virtud de un acuerdo de licencia y se vende en muchas de las tiendas de regalos de los principales museos y galerías de arte del mundo, entre otros MoMA, Tate Modern, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Chicago, Galería Nacional de Canadá, Museo Rijks...
