15 X natural banded agate necklace beads from the ancient Burmese culture, Pyu States, 200 - 1000 AD.

In good condition. They have been cleaned in a tumbler, so they surfaces are shiny and smooth, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient hand cutting, carving, boring and grinding. The holes are ancient, hand-made, irregular , but over drilled with modern techniques to make the pieces wearable when ancient holes are obstructed. Traces of use and age on its surface.

Purchased in 1980/Yangon by Dr. Zelnik on the local art market during his diplomatic mission in the region.
