A woomera is an Australian Aboriginal wooden spear-throwing device. Similar to an atlatl, it serves as an extension of the human arm, enabling a spear to travel at a greater speed and force than possible with only the arm

This is in good complete original condition, the only damage is the twined tied end piece where the twine binding and holding gum has deteriorated to a point where it’s loose but still firm

Black, red, brown and white decorative dot, dash and line pigmentation are still visible vibrantly which cover this weighty obviously strong native wood

Rare to find this large, early, original honest complete example with a wonderful patina all stone chipped cut and chiselled

Obvious patches of wear and surface scratches which are all historic and consummate with age and use
