This delightful Goebel Hummel figurine titled ‘Two Hands, One Treat’ was modelled in 1988 by master sculptor Helmut Fischler. It was produced in 1991, in porcelain and beautifully hand-painted. This figurine was exclusively gifted to members of the MI Hummel Club.

In 1977, The Goebel Collector's Club was founded in the United States, to serve as an information hub for the growing number of Hummel collectors. In 1989, it expanded to include other countries and the name became the MI Hummel Club. The Club offers an array of membership benefits, including exclusive figurines designed and manufactured just for its members.

Hummel figurines were conceived by Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel — an academy-trained artist and Franciscan nun. In the early 1930s, Sister Hummel’s drawings were sold as art postcards by Munich-based publisher Ars Sacra. These caught the attention of Franz Goebel — master porcelain maker and owner of the W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik — who rendered Hummel’s drawings as porcelain figurines beginning in 1935. The sweet children with rosy cheeks performing daily tasks were inspired by Hummel’s childhood and depict scenes of the joy and innocence found in the pastoral Bavarian countryside.

Dimensions: 10.5cm high, 4cm wide

Marks: Under the base, the figurine has etchings of the production control numbers, an ink-stamp with the MI Hummel Club mark, and has the full bee in a semi-circle and the Goebel Germany stamp, and is initialed by the artist who painted it. On the side of the base is a sticker with the name of the piece in German and English.

Condition: The figurine is in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, blemishes, fissures, or crazing.

Shipping: Carefully boxed and wrapped, this piece and will be dispatched with a tracking number.
