A Chinese Double sword, a so called: shuangjian (雙劍) from the 19th century.
The nice forged blades have unusual copper inserts into the blade, the cast brass mounted hilts are of classic form with taotie (饕餮) masks and both grips are of carved horn and are incised for more grip. The scabbard made of wood covered in shagreen and finished with bronze mounts.
Comes with a custom made display stand.

Condition: The blades show some staining, nicks at the edges and scratches, the hilts have some play. The scabbard shows minor damages throughout and is missing a mounting at the tip.
Dimensions: Blade length: 430 mm width: 34 mm and thickness: 3,3 mm. Length including hilt and pommel: 56 cm. Total length including scabbard: 65,3 cm
