For fans of retro Hi-Fi, I offer a very rare model with the fastest auto reverse in excellent condition and a wonderful set. Akai GX-77 Stereo Reel to Reel Tape Recorder (1981-1983) + Reel 18 cm with tape BASF. Among the features of the tape recorder, it is worth noting the system of manual and automatic reverse; in order to take advantage of the auto-reverse function, a small piece of probing foil should be attached at the end of the magnetic tape. The Akai GX-77 has an unusual arrangement of heads; they are located opposite each other. The tape is fed to the heads using a special roller, and this system is called the “lambda loading system”. This arrangement is only for the GX-77 model; other models used the classic head arrangement. The reel deck has a solid weight, but at the same time looks ultra-compact. Fully tested and adjusted and can last for many years. The recording, tape speed and levels have been adjusted. The entire belt running mechanism was disassembled, all old lubricant was removed and replaced with new one. New belts on capstans and reel motors. Some capacitors have been replaced ( Nichicon Fine Gold - Japan). The trimming resistors were replaced with completely sealed РIНЕR ones. Potentiometers and switches were cleaned to avoid poor contact and rustling noise. The sound heads have been demagnetized. Fully cleaned and serviced. Configured and tested for a long time.
