Ancient Egyptian beautiful green glazed faience amulet made during the Ptolemaic Period circa 304 BC - 30 BC in Egypt. Talisman has a form of a scarab beetle with an oval shaped body and carefully incised features such as the clypeus, head and eyes. It has a flat base and an outlet hole for suspension.
Scarabs in Egyptian culture symbolized rebirth, resurrection, transformation, and growth. Talismans with their images were worn for good luck and protection against bad spirits.
