2018 Bolla Le Origini - Amarone della Valpolicella - 3 Flasker (0,75 L)

Veneto is a land of ancient winemaking traditions, known throughout the world for its vast production of DOCs and for being the homeland of one of the most marketed Italian red wines on the planet: Amarone. The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from the Bolla company comes from the vineyards located in the area of origin (hence the mention 'classico'), between the high valleys of Marano and Negrar. Corvina and Rondinella are magically combined here and aged in French oak barriques for 48 months, before completing 9 months in the bottle, in the cool cellars of Bolla. Intense garnet red colour, it presents aromas of great elegance on the nose, with a mix of graphite, black cherries in alcohol and plum jam, spicy notes of cloves, licorice and vanilla, with hints of bitter cocoa to finish. The taste is vigorous, powerful, strong in the alcoholic note and velvety in the tannins, with clear spicy returns and persistent balsamic gusts. Excellent with game and red meats, even grilled, it pairs perfectly with very mature cheeses.
