Wassily Kandinsky Nina Kandinsky as sole heir. Nina Kandinsky took from that moment on care of the estate.

Printed in Imprimeur Atelier Arcay, Paris in 1973 after an original of 1932.

This lithograph is related to Kandinsky's time as a teacher at the Bauhaus, a period when he created some of his most significant works. The vibrant interplay of line and form in this piece is a vivid example of his style, which was heavily influenced by his collaborations with other abstract and geometric artists.
It related to the interdisciplinary ethos of the Bauhaus, which encouraged breaking down boundaries between art, architecture, and design.

During his period, Kandinsky worked alongside notable figures such as Paul Klee, Lyonel Feininger, László Moholy-Nagy, Josef Albers, Marcel Breuer, Herbert Bayer, Hannes Meyer, Oskar Schlemmer, Johannes Itten, and Gunta Stölzl. The influence of and on Kandinsky by these prominent figures is reflected in the vibrant and innovative style of his art.

Abstraction-Création was one of the largest and most important international groups of abstract and geometric artists. Formed in Paris in 1931 by Georges Vantongerloo, the Dutch architect, painter, and theoretician Theo van Doesburg, and the French artist Auguste Herbin, the movement aimed to provide a theoretical foundation for abstract art and promote its members' work. The group included notable artists such: Jean Arp (Hans Arp, dit), Max Bill, Alexander Calder, Sonia Delaunay (Sarah Sophie Stern Terk, dite), César Domela (César Domela-Nieuwenhuis, dit), Hans Erni, Hans Fischli, Frantisek Foltyn, Jean Gorin (Jean-Albert Gorin, dit), Jean Hélion, Vassily Kandinsky, Théo Kerg, František Kupka, Fausto Melotti, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Piet Mondrian (Pieter-Cornelis Mondriaan, dit), Taro Okamoto, Antoine Pevsner, Mauro Reggiani, Hans Schiess, Henryk Stazewski, Wladyslaw Strzeminski, Sophie Taeuber-Arp (Sophie-Henriette Taeuber, dite), Theo Van Doesburg (Christian Emil Kuepper, dit), Georges Vantongerloo, Luigi Veronesi, Paule Vézelay (Paule Watson-Williams, dite), Jean Villeri, Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart, Gérard Vulliamy
