Dio e lo Stato. Con prefazione di Leonida Bissolati e Filippo Turati Firenze, G. Nerbini Editore, 1903
§ Small 4°,101 pp. and publisher’s catalogue at the end. Contemporary boards with decorative paper;
First published, posthumously, in French in Geneva, 1882. This edition was translated from the Russian by Paolina Bissolati, Leonida’s mother. “In the same year [1882] by the Bissolatis arrives Bakunin: his [Leonida's] mother Paolina translates “God and the State”, a desecrating work in line with Ardigò agnosticism. Leonidas and Filippo [Turati] will dictate the preface, which will appear in Nerbini's 1903 edition.” (Bozzetti, p. 203, translated).
Mikhail Alexandrovich Bakunin[a] (/bəˈkuːnɪn/ bə-KOO-nin;[5] 30 May 1814 – 1 July 1876) was a Russian revolutionary anarchist. He is among the most influential figures of anarchism and a major figure in the revolutionary socialist, social anarchist,[6] and collectivist anarchist traditions. Bakunin's prestige as a revolutionary also made him one of the most famous ideologues in Europe, gaining substantial influence among radicals throughout Russia and Europe.
A milestone of XXth century political thought, exceptionally rare, only three copies recorded in worldwide libraries.
