Authentic Namaskara Mudra greeting statue (putali) for protection - western Nepal. You will find these unique statues in various forms all over the country, offering protection to the local people. They are placed at a house altar, at the largest tree in the village or the entrance to a house, village or forest, on a bridge or at the villages square. They are therefore found in all sizes. They receive offerings (Pujas) from everyone. This statue is made of local wood and has an unique patina and beautiful signs of use and age. It is a beautiful example of primitive art and local culture. There is some damage due to use and age. The statue can't stand on its own, it is a bit crooked and wobbly.
