Four-cup anemometer "MS-13" of 1985. A similar device was invented in 1845 by John Thomas Romney Robinson. It consists of a cup turntable mounted on an axle that is connected to a measuring mechanism. When there is an air flow, the wind pushes the cups, which begin to rotate around their axis. The device measures the number of rotations of the cups around the axis for a given time, which is equal to a certain distance, after which the average wind speed is calculated. Presumably, the device was used at the industrial facilities of JSC Yugansknaftogaz.
