November 23, 2023, Paris – All cycling fans around the world should get ready to own a piece of cycling's soul-stirring history! Groupama-FDJ cycling Team presents an end of year auction that celebrates the sport's legendary moments. From 23 November to 3 December, 10 bikes ridden by international cycling stars, along with a selection of memorabilia and experiences, will be available to fans and collectors on Catawiki, the leading online marketplace for special objects.
At the core of this auction lies Thibaut Pinot's farewell to the sport and the Lapierre Obvious bike he rode in the emotional Virage Pinot during the Tour de France 2023. With an estimated value from €15,000 to €30,000, this is not just a bicycle, but a precious heirloom that embodies over a decade of cycling history. Another exclusive item in auction is a monumental autographed banner used in the Pinot curva and capturing his emotional retirement from the sport.

Commenting on the auction, Thibaut Pinot said: "This cherished object is the symbol of my final moment in cycling. As the bike I rode in my last Tour de France, especially passing through the Virage Pinot for the last time, it holds immense sentimental value. I'm glad to provide the chance for an eager fan to acquire it, allowing this legacy to endure over time.’’
Beyond Pinot's legacy, the auction boasts other notable team’s bikes, all with an estimated value from €7,000 to €14,000. From Lapierre Xelius SL ridden by Lenny Martinez, the youngest leader in La Vuelta's history, to Valentin Madouas' Lapierre Xelius SL, which he used in his French Championship 2023 triumph, and Bruno Armirail's Lapierre Aerostorm DRS time trial bike, which he won the 2022 French Time Trial Championship with. Also featured is the Lapierre Aerostorm DRS time trial bike in European Champion colours used by Stefan Küng at the end of the 2021 and beginning of the 2022 season. Each bike will be personally adjusted by the team mechanics and include the chance to visit the service course for the winning buyers.

Exclusive experiences complement the items in auction. An ultimate training opportunity awaits an amateur racer, featuring a full day of training, fitting and analysis at the Groupama-FDJ cycling Team performance centre, monthly follow-ups, and a 5-day trip to the French Cycling Championship location with training included. The chance to dine with Groupama-FDJ team manager Marc Madiot and get an intimate glimpse into the world of cycling excellence is also available.
