House of Catawiki: your chance to strike gold in the heart of Paris

There's finally a reason to clean out the attic and dust off those old unique items - as Catawiki's first ever Valuation Fair is here. The "House of Catawiki" is the leading online marketplace’s first event in France and a one of a kind opportunity to have your old objects appraised for free by their various in-house experts present at the pop up on April 15th at art-house space 3537.

A rare drawing by Pablo Picasso, Amy Winehouse's library, an emblematic 1973 Renault Alpine and a Hermes Birkin bag - these are just some of the treasures to be discovered on Catawiki, now for one day only, they will also be exhibited in this private mansion in the heart of the Marais. Visitors can escape the monoculture of the everyday and step into the digital auction house’s world of dazzling and unusual objects, as part of an immersive exhibition.

Over 60 objects on display and under the hammer

Available to bid on instantly by scanning a QR code - the objects on offer range from a rare lithograph by Salvador Dali and drawing by Andy Warhol to luxury pieces such as a magnificent Cartier necklace or a model of the Royal Oak Concept by Audemars Piguet. Sports enthusiasts can discover gems like a jersey signed by the almighty footballer Zidane whilst collectors can find a super rare Pokémon card straight from influencer David Lafarge's personal collection, as well as a magnificent drawing by Hergé published in the Journal Tintin.

Getting your treasure valued

Whether you bring along a photo of a personal object or the object itself, visitors can have their best stuff appraised free of charge by one of the Catawiki experts present and thus benefit from personalised sales advice, should they later decide to take the plunge and auction it on the site.

Catawiki is also inviting 5 of the platform's brightest French artists to exhibit their finest works at 3537. In 2019, Catawiki began allowing independent artists to directly sell their works on its online marketplace, allowing painters, sculptors, photographers, designers, natural stone cutters, illustrators, and many more to bring their businesses online and reach millions of passionate users globally. The event will feature a mix of works from painters Biatturi artist Irina and Skepa and Hopper, street artist Gregos, sculptor Raghad, interior designer Studio Joachim-Morineau and artisan Wendy Andreu.

To mark this first Catawiki event in France, Cyrille Coiffet, Vice President and General Manager, comments: "France ranks among the top 3 markets for Catawiki, with almost 400 million spent by French people on our platform to date. Through this event, we want to offer the French public a deep dive into the Catawiki universe. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet our highly knowledgeable French experts and have them value their stuff, whilst uncovering and experiencing first-hand some of the finest treasures we have on Catawiki. Cancel all your plans and join us at Valuation Day on Saturday 15 April.”
