New collection of artwork from controversial contemporary artist, Hayden Kays goes up for auction

In an auction curated and supervised by the London-based artist himself, buyers will be able to bid on his most recent works, including two new pieces from Kays’ striking currency work, ‘Sick To Debt’ and ‘Pills n Thrills & Dollar Bills”. These two inkjet prints both come with a handwritten and illustrated certificate of authenticity from Hayden Kays. The auction also includes two original, hand drawn images by the thought-provoking artist, titled ‘The Second Best Thing You Do Alone’ and ‘Coloured Guy’, a unique ink drawing on an original London Underground tube map. Catawiki’s specialist contemporary art auctioneer, Anthony Crisp, comments that he expects these two striking images will attract a flurry of bids at this auction. Hayden Kays’ work often draws from popular culture and art history, with these pieces showcasing his signature bold style and deadpan humour. Kays’ artwork has seen him gain a legion of celebrity fans including Caroline Flack, Coldplay and Harry Styles who spent over £20,000 on Kays’ work in 2012. Anthony Crisp, Catawiki’s contemporary art auctioneer, comments, “Hayden Kays’ pieces are undeniably striking and always thought provoking. This particular auction showcases his unique style and is really telling as to why he is considered one of the most provocative and critically successful artists of his generation. We have already seen great interest in the auction and expect it to continue.” The auction will run until the 19th March 2016 at: http://auction.catawiki.co.uk/hayden-kays-art-auction
